Vandaag een nieuwe post met een kaart gemaakt met mijn collegaatje in gedachten.

De kaart combineert de liftchallenge en de challenge van Knutsels en kadootjes.

I hope you're feeling special | My first Stampin Up! card

I never thought I would order anything from Stampin up!. I don't like the idea of not REALLY knowing what you're gonna get, until you are face to face with the UPS-man. But there it was; the horrid event of me not liking any of the Christmas products at my favorite craftstore.

I received a way to small box for having spent 200 euros but, alas, everything was really in there. I'm a grown woman. I have got a job. I can spend excessive amounts of money on stamps right? Right!

Of course I wanted to use my stamps right away and by reading my favorite card challenge blogs a clear image came to mind of the card I would make.

With this card I have combined the Knutsels en Kadootjes butterfly challenge#38, Liftchallenge #107 and Sketch Saturday challenge #428.

For the 'lift' part of the card I was especially inspired by this beautiful creation by Nicole. It really ties the whole card together.

I really wanted to do a bit of colouring, since my last 3 cards all have been pretty clean and simple.

It actually took me quite some time to colour in the  bottom panel, and I hope I will someday find a receipent for this card!

Get well soon | Sketch Saturday Challenge #423

The reason I started participating in blogchallenges was my all time creative low and how it got harder and harder for me to even enter my craftroom.

Having a bit of structure to work with really helped me get my creativity flowing again.

The Sketch Saturday challenge of this week gave me the opportunity to take back a bit of control and choose my own sketch out of sketches 215 to 422!

I love all of them, so I decided to choose one with the recipient of my card in mind.

Om niet te laat te komen gooi ik hem nu snel online.

The color throwdown challenge.

It seemed like such a fun challenge, but it did not really work out for me this time



I could not really find the right colour pink in my stash.
After deciding on my colours, I wanted to combine this challenge with other challenges.

First I started out with a combination of ctd396 and the HLS CAS Ghosting challenge.
Never having done ghosting, it went terribly wrong.



After this I decided to combine ctd396 with the liftchallenge.
Since the colours are icecream-inspired I thought they would do well on a cupcake.
Sadly, my cupcake didn't stamp well and it left me a bit frustrated.




Nothing gets me back in a good mood like opening up a brand new stampset.
The next couple of cards are not my best work ever.. but at least this time I didn't miss the deadline for the challenge.



























































Next time I will join the color throwdown again, and I'm gonna rock it!

Friend | Bingo-Challenge Knutsels en Kadootjes (1/2)

Vandaag een post voor mijn deelname aan de Bingo-challenge van Knutsels en Kadootjes.



Ik doe hierbij mee met twee kaarten, een aparte post voor elke kaart.
Tijdens het maken van de ene kaart besloop mij het idee voor de volgende (een bekend 'probleem' bij velen haha).

Deze kaart volgt de bingo Kadootjes-Hout-Blauw.

Omdat de letters van het woord friend wat smal zijn, is het onderdeel 'hout' minder goed te zien op de foto.

Hugs/you're one of a kind | Challenge #89 - Petals Addicted to CAS

I have fallen in love with the creations posted at the Addicted to CAS (clean and Simple) blog, and decided to join their challenge!

The codeword for this challenge is 'petals'.



Because this challenge made it hard for me to pick a stamp from my big collection of floral stamps, I decided to make my crafting life easier by letting someone else do the colour selection. This is where I ended up at colorthrowdown.blogspot.com. Unfortunately, I have been too busy to upload this blogpost earlier, so I missed the link-up for their challenge #394.

Dream | Mojo Monday 449

Today I join the challenge of Mojomonday.
Julee created this wonderful sketch for this weeks' challenge:

The birthday of my very loved mother-in-law is coming up, so this challenge is dedicated to her.



I started out on a kraft card Base and adhered an off-white panel of the same size (105 mm by 148 mm).
Then, I cut a piece of kraft cardstock to 99 mm by 142 mm. I stamped the feathers from lawn fawn 'dream' stampset in Versamark alongside the edge, creating a tone-on-tone look. After having adhered this to my project, I lined up a 85 mm by 9 mm panel of off-white paper, making sure to perfectly line up the paper, creating a 12 mm border of feather-stamped kraft.

For some extra interest, I decided to stamp the feathers in Versamark on some artist drawing paper, and heat-set it with white embossingpowder.
To colour in the feathers, I used some Distress Inks and my waterbrush.
I used the same Distress ink to colour-coordinate the strip of 99 mm by 20 strip on the card.
